When it comes to the spleen, everyone may only know that it is an organ of the human body. Compared with the heart, liver and kidneys, the spleen has no sense of existence. So, what function does the spleen have?

The spleen is located on the upper left side of the abdominal cavity, corresponding to the 9th to 11th ribs on the surface of the body. The right side of the spleen is adjacent to the stomach, the upper end is adjacent to the diaphragm, and the lower end is adjacent to the left colon.
Modern medicine believes that the spleen is a major immune organ of the human body and participates in specific immunity. The spleen is like a "filter". The dense blood vessels and lymphatic tissues in the spleen continuously identify, capture and remove foreign bodies, bacteria, viruses, parasites and other pathogens that invade the blood.

The spleen is under the ribs of the human body, and generally does not need special protection, as long as it avoids severe collisions. And this may be the reason why the spleen has no sense of existence.
